* I first wrote this on June 16, 1974 . . .
when my husband and I decided it would
be better for us to stay home and watch movies on TV then to fuss with the kids in
the car at a Drive-Inn! They were 2 & 5 at that time . . . need I say more!
Remember those days ? . . . LOL!
Have you ever wondered about the television,
Especially if you have perfectly good vision?
How about the commercials that can fool you so,
Of certain foods and personal items that has you
thinking which store do I go?
Now you have changed the channel to watch
Captain Kangaroo or Sesame Street,
Wouldn't you know the kids has now seen
other characters they wish they could meet!
We used to watch movie's in our car
at a local Drive-Inn,
But now with this TV, we stay home
and watch it within.
From science fiction, comedy and romance,
To music video's to make you want to dance.
All so life like and seemed so very real,
Even shows excercises to do a cart wheel!
We even see the sports, weather and local news,
There are times I prefer not to watch
just so I could miss a few.
Now the day has ended and it's very late,
I'm checking the channel schedule
for a certain time and date.
My body is feeling tired but that's no big deal,
So don't touch that channel as I'm getting ready
to watch Let's Make A Deal!
