The autumn season is upon us once more
with beautiful colored leaves,
As we watch each one change and float
within the autumn breeze;
Knowing that winter will be arriving soon,
As we get ready for the seasons gala
and sing along with the holiday tunes.
Blessings of the harvest time ...
Within the garden where it all grows,
With even a pumpkin patch
with its very own scarecrow.
As the autumn air carries the scent
of honey baked ham, roast turkey and
the aroma of sweet potatoe pie,
I think of all the things that I am grateful for
as I look up towards the sky.
How wonderful it is for family and friends ...
To make memories of spending time together,
Counting our blessings we all have gathered;
While our thoughts and prayers
are with those who can not be,
In hopes' that maybe next time
We would get to see;
Including loved ones of others far from home
protecting our nation for world peace.
May we all enjoy what autumn brings ...
Colored leaves and the flowing breeze,
Blessings of the harvest to make
your wonderful holiday feast;
The gathering of your families and friends
that shares a heartful of love that never ends.
And the freedom to express
what is in our hearts ...
As we take time to pray and give Thanks
to our heavenly father ...
As He hears what each one has to say,
For we "all" have a reason
to be grateful on this
Autumn Thanksgiving Day.
