As I sit back and imagine what I would like to see,
I get carried away with a variety
of colors around me;
For the vision within my mind becomes a reality,
Upon the canvas just as I pictured it would be.
With a little dab here and a brush stroke there,
Watch this painting come alive
for it is no longer bare;
As on my palette I'm prepared to mix and twirl,
The many colors I'll use to color my world.
Using hues of blues and a touch of white,
To hightlight the shading of the sky just right;
As it forms the clouds for the heaven above,
God sent a rainbow to remind us of His love.
For now it smiles upon our earth,
The beauty of all creations with its birth;
As the shades of browns, greens and yellows,
Brings life to the land for all living
things that follows.
With a little dab here and a brush stroke there,
It is starting to look life-like for it isn't
no longer bare;
As my palette looks messy with all
the mix and twirl,
Of the many colors I used to color my world.
A touch of red, orange and light strokes of black,
To set the character it once upon lacked;
As if we could feel the slight blowing breeze,
Like angel wings that flutter to move
the air that we breathe.
A peaceful, happy place where joy and laughter
fills ones heart,
Instead of pain and sorrow that can
tear our life apart.
If all the beautiful colors came
with a flowing melody of sound,
What wonderful music this canvas
would have found.
With a little dab here and a brush stroke there,
I believe God knew what He was doing when
He created the heavens and earth not to be bare;
For we are like the colors on the palette
that has been mixed and twirled,
To bring us all together in our whole wide world.
Like every picture tells a story, and how life has
its own mystery . . . but God saw all that He had
made, and it was very good. (Genesis 1:31)
So now it is up to you and how you feel
as your thoughts ponder and gather,
For you may view it differently than what I see;
As you let your imagination color your world
to what "You" pictured it to be.
