When daylight breaks, the sun rises as the
minute hand ticks and time flies in mid-air,
As my thoughts goes bewildered when I
question where . . . Oh Where?
Since time stands still for no one . . .
Where did it go?
For the minutes, the hours and the days
has faded so quickly . . . We don't know!
We often take for granted the day
has not yet ended,
As we take care of our household
and its dependents;
With alot to do on an errand list and certain
appointment dates to keep,
As we check our watches and scurry along
on our tired feet.
What did you say, or was that a voice I heard
as I planned the daily meals,
Rushed, confused and mixed emotions
on how I'm beginning to feel?
Am I imagining things or am I
just talking to myself?
Think it was my consious pushing me along
as the clock reminds me to dust it
upon the shelf.
Did I remember to send out the mail
or make that special phone call,
Certainly have no time to go shopping
at the local outlet mall.
For there's something else I was
suppose to do today,
Or is this the day the grandchildren
comes over to visit and to play?
Where, Oh where did the time go?
For the minutes, the hours and the days
has faded so quickly . . . We don't know!
It's evening time now as the sunset appears,
With barely enough daylight left
before it completely disappears;
Time to start the dinner as I put away
the list that is left undone,
For in comes the family scattering
their belongings one by one.
Now the day has ended and there's
one thing I must do,
Just to enjoy my loved ones and end
the night with each one by saying,
"I Love You."
And now that it is quiet and I'm
finally settling down,
I listen for the calmness of our home
for it has its own peaceful sound.
It's time for me to close my eyes
as my thoughts I clearly see,
I'm reminded that I didn't let
this day conquor me.
For tho yesterday is already gone and what
I didn't finish today, I can do tomorrow
and again my thoughts will wonder . . .
Where, Oh where did the time go?
For the minutes, the hours and the days
has faded so quickly . . . We don't know!
But with each new day comes a new clock
that ticks away our time that can't
be rushed or held back.
So we do the best we can with the minutes
we may lack;
As we have come to realize no matter
what we do,
Not only for you, or for me or a certain few;
But for us all, we are truely blessed for . . .
It's Only Time!
