The door bell rings as I opened the door,
To greet little spooks that I am waiting for;
Each as a different character appearing
on this Halloween night,
To collect some little goodies and maybe
give me such a fright.
See the little ghost and the jack o'lantern,
As each one stands before me taking turns;
With cute little witches, goblins and even a
mummy too . . . dressed as if he's in a cast,
Makes you wonder . . . who are these little
people standing behind their mask?
I chat with each one as they received
their special treat,
And no sooner closed my door . . .
when I heard the sounds of running feet.
"Who is at my door?"; I asked,
as little voices yells out as if it was a task.
"Trick or Treat . . . Get off your seat,
Give us something good to eat!"
So now I appear . . . to greet the little spooks
that I have been waiting for,
Then send them on their way . . .
With a silent prayer for each one
to have a Safe and Happy Halloween
as they appear as little spooks
at someone else's door.
