The room was all dim with only the christmas tree glowing,
As I peeked around the corner for one last final look;
I glanced towards the window to see it wasn't snowing,
Then noticed on the mantel . . . the empty stockings
hanging from the hooks.
Each had a list of the loved ones christmas wishes,
And a plate was near by . . . filled with Santas cookies.
My eyes began to glisten as I remembered each of their kiss'es,
So I decided to check on them with a soft tip toe looky.
How precious they looked as they slept cozy in their beds,
As I blew each a kiss . . . a smile appeared that I wanted to see;
For happy dreams of christmas are dancing in their heads,
Silently I prayed Gods blessings for them, their daddy and for me.
Morning has arrived and with excitement in the mist,
As we greeted each other with such joy and noise in the air.
The kids yelled, "The cookies are gone and Santa has
disappeared and so has our list!"
There on the mantel where the stockings was hung . . .
They couldn't believe their twinkling eyes, as it was
stuffed with such care!
We treasured the special memories which this one day beholds,
As we watched them with delight . . . when they happily ran
to touch and reach for each one.
Yanet was so proud when she found the velvet case, for then
she placed upon her wrist a bracelet made of gold.
Kenny jumped when he saw his silver box, for now he has
a secret place for the drum sticks that he had won.
Now we watch the two younger ones ... They are a delightful pair!
They placed their hands into their stockings to pull out nuts, fruits
and a hand full of candy.
April starts to giggle as she does a little dance, cause now she is
as happy as her cute musical teddy bear.
Now look at Keone, he is grining from ear to ear as he shows
us his pocket size game . . . for it does all kinds of neat things
that is really cool and quite handy!
As I glazed upon their faces and embraced their daddys hand,
I said another prayer . . . To thank the Lord for his birthday
for that is what makes Christmas day;
And also thanked him for the angels that guided Santas sleigh.
For it carried all the wishes since his long journey had begun,
And how I feel thankful . . . That He has filled the stockings
for my loved one's.
